Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Webb & Stephens – Union is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Kelly, age 86, of Union, passed away June 5th at Ochsner Laird.
Betty graduated Decatur High School and attended East Central Community College. She taught Sunday School for the Upper Room class at Neshoba Baptist Church for over fifty-eight years. Betty cherished every member of Neshoba Baptist.
Betty never met a stranger. Throughout her life, she witnessed to everyone her love for Christ and His salvation. She believed that God has us here on earth for a purpose and that is to tell others what God has done for us and to proclaim His holy word.
She said, “My heart’s desire is for my family and friends to be in that heavenly home He has prepared for us. I want to see Jesus; the One who died for me. May God bless you all. Let us all leave good memories.”
The family would like to extend special thanks to Joyce Blalock and Linda Gentry Way for being compassionate and loving caregivers.
Betty is survived by her husband of sixty-eight years, Webb J Kelly; daughter, Lynette Kelly Fulton and her husband, Tommy, of Laurel, MS, son, Ricky Kelly, of Union, MS, and daughter, Rhonda Bounds and her husband, Tony, of Union, MS; grandchildren, Laurie Fulton Stewart and her husband, Daniel, of Sumrall, MS, Paige Lashley Ridout and her husband, Trent, of Little Rock, MS, and Chas Lashley and his wife, Skyler, of Union, MS; great-grandchildren, Maddie Stewart, Mary Taylor Stewart, Addie Lashley, Rylee Lashley, Micah Lashley and Noah Ridout.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Parks and Edith Addy.
Pallbearers will be Chas Lashley, Daniel Stewart, Trent Ridout, Tony Bounds, Brian Gordon and Robert Pilgrim. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Fulton, Robert Ezelle, Bill Ussery and Tommy Waddell.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in her honor to Neshoba Baptist Church.
