William "Bill" Stennis

A graveside memorial service for Mr. William “Bill” Locker Stennis will be held Saturday, September 17, 2022, 10:30 a.m., at Pinecrest Cemetery in DeKalb, MS with Bro. Chris Gully officiating. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-Downtown is honored to be trusted with arrangements.

Mr. Stennis, 72, of DeKalb, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at River Birch Assisted Living in Union, MS.

Bill was an avid train enthusiast, gaining passion for it after working on the railroad for a time. He devoted time to making model trains and anything else to do with locomotives. He was also a fan of sci-fi. He had a wonderful sense of humor and hearty laugh, and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his sons, Richard L. Stennis (Mary C.) and James L. Stennis (Emily); grandchildren, Victoria J. Stennis, Ester Grace A. Stennis, Lilliam K. Stennis, and Charlotte L. Stennis; and siblings, Earl A. Stennis and Christy Stennis-Ball.

He is preceded in death by his son, George L. Stennis II; parents, George Locker Stennis and Annie Jean Stennis King; and brother, George G. Stennis.
